Do I need a referral to see you?
A referral is not required but recommended for a consultation with Foot Balance Technology especially if you have complex issues or a history of previous treatments or surgeries, providing your medical history can be beneficial.
Are Foot Balance Technology consultations covered by Medicare?
Foot Balance Technology consultations and products are not claimable through Medicare. However, many private health funds cover the costs of our products. While the consultation itself is not claimable, having a referral on file may assist with potential claims. Coverage will depend on your private health insurance level.
What should I bring to my first consultation?
Bring the shoes you wear most often, any current or previous orthotic devices, x-rays, referral from health professionals or other relevant information.
I have private health insurance; can I claim anything back?
We are registered with most major Australian health funds, and our products are generally refundable through private health insurance. A referral is usually recommended to facilitate claiming back from health funds.
I have a workers compensation or third-party claim.

Yes, we work with insurance providers for workers' compensation and third-party claims. Please provide a referral along with the contact details of your insurance provider, claim number and case manager.

Is Foot Balance Technology endorsed by the Department of Veterans Affairs?

Foot Balance Technology is an approved provider for the Australian Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), although only a limited part of our services is covered. DVA patients require a referral from an orthopaedic surgeon, rheumatologist or podiatrist. Please let us know at the time of booking if you wish to utilise DVA cover.

After the initial supply of footwear, we offer follow-up reviews and adjustments if required. We also provide training and advice for your primary carer if needed, to ensure proper use of the product.
