About us
We recommend and make
the right footwear
Our dreams help us move forward in life. So do our feet. If at any point in your life your feet deny to give you the support you need, we can help you. We are here to empower you and your loved ones with mobility and confidence so that you can chase your dreams.
We recommend and make the right footwear – the kind that will help you regain your balance, free you from pain and let you keep doing what you love best.
It’s an unavoidable truth that the longer we walk the Earth, the less stable the foundation provided by our hardworking feet becomes.
Some of us are born with conditions that bring foot health challenges – such as cerebral palsy or a leg length difference.
For others, poor-fitting shoes have caused bunions or calluses and disease has led to foot health complications.
No matter what your condition or challenge, the Foot Balance Technology team can help.
Meet Sayed Ahmed,
founder, Foot Balance Technology
In 2006, armed with a degree in Footwear Engineering and Technology and bucket loads of enthusiasm, Sayed got a job with global leaders in footwear manufacture Bata Shoe Co in Bangladesh.
While working with Bata, Sayed was made aware of the alarming spread of diabetes and diabetes-related foot complications throughout Bangladesh. He also observed the lack of preventative treatment options for foot ulcers and the non-existence of appropriate Footwear or offloading interventions.
Sayed moved to Australia in 2009 so he could build on his already extensive Footwear manufacturing knowledge and skills. He also wanted to learn more about how he could make a positive difference to people with diabetes-related foot complications through appropriate Footwear.
In 2011, after studying with the Australian School of Pedorthics, Pro-Learn Pedorthics School in Oklahoma, and undertaking professional training with industry leaders, Sayed received his Pedorthist Australia (C Ped AU) certification and in 2015 his pedorthist and custom maker (C Ped CM Au) certification.
He founded Foot Balance Technology to help people with foot health conditions.
In addition to his work through his clinic, Sayed works in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams at the High-Risk Foot Clinics of Nepean and St Vincents hospitals. He also regularly receives referrals from the High-Risk Foot Clinics at Concord, Royal Prince Alfred, Westmead, Bankstown, Liverpool and Blacktown Hospitals.
He is also completing a Ph.D. in the area of diabetes foot care and footwear through the School of Health and Human Science at Southern Cross University. You can learn more about Sayed’s research topic here and find his published article here.
Sayed has the vision to use his experience and research to improve the lives of patients with diabetes-related foot problems around the globe.
As a first step, he is servicing patients in the greater Sydney area and, in 2018, trained a professional team to co-found Foot Balance Technology (BD) Ltd. in Bangladesh. You can find out more about the joint venture here.
As well as his strong interest in diabetes, Sayed works closely with many public and private practising orthopaedic foot & ankle surgeons, podiatrists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, orthotists, and prosthetists to advise on gait and posture improvement, supply footwear and orthoses, and help patients through the rehabilitation process.
Sayed is also a guest lecturer and placement supervisor for final year podiatry students at Western Sydney University’s School of Podiatry Medicine and CQUniversity in Sydney.
He is also a former elected board member of the Pedorthic Association of Australia and a committee member of the NADC Foot Network Working Party.
Sayed has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a much sought-after speaker at leading pedorthics and foot health-related conferences at home and abroad.
To make an appointment to see Sayed call 1300 246 328.

When he’s not in the clinic, you’re most likely to catch Sayed on the cricket pitch or soccer field.
