Meet Dr Sayed Ahmed,
Founder of Foot Balance Technology
Founder of Foot Balance Technology
Dr Sayed Ahmed is a trailblazer in foot health and footwear innovation. After obtaining a degree in Footwear Engineering and Technology in 2006, Dr Ahmed began working with global footwear giant Bata Shoe Co. in his native Bangladesh. It was here that he first encountered the alarming rise of diabetes-related foot complications and the severe lack of effective prevention or treatment options for foot ulcers. This experience ignited his passion for improving foot health, especially for those living with diabetes.
In 2009, Dr Ahmed moved to Australia to expand his expertise and explore ways to make a real difference in diabetic foot care. He continued his education at the Australian School of Pedorthics and the Pro-Learn Pedorthics School in Oklahoma, earning his certification as a Pedorthist Australia (C Ped AU) in 2011, followed by his certification as a custom maker (C Ped CM Au) in 2015.
Recognising the need for specialised care, Dr. Ahmed founded Foot Balance Technology in 2016. The clinic has since become a trusted resource for patients suffering from a range of foot conditions, including diabetic neuropathy, foot ulcers and other complications. Dr Ahmed's dedication extends beyond his clinic. He collaborates with interdisciplinary teams at the High-Risk Foot Clinics of Nepean and St. Vincent’s hospitals and regularly works with referrals from several major hospitals, including Concord, Royal Prince Alfred and Westmead.
